LA GRANGE AUX AVOINES

the barn

The Barn has five bedrooms capable of sleeping up to twelve people in various configurations.

The ground floor has two double bedrooms both with en suite shower rooms. One has been adapted for reduced mobility guests with wheelchair access and full wet room. There are two additional double bedrooms on the first floor, one with a mezzanine providing additional bed space.  There is also a shower and separate wc

There is a large lounge around the front bay window with big sofas in front of the wood burning stove. Adjoining is the Velo Room for a big family celebration or group get together sitting around the burgundy wine barrels whilst watching  TV.

To avoid having to go upstairs everytime you want to use the kitchen, we have built a « summer kitchen » in the adjoining small barn which was known locally as the pig sty « porcherie »

The main dining/kitchen area is at first floor mezzanine level fitted out with a farmhouse table, dual oven cooker, dishwasher, fridge etc. Access to the bedrooms is from each end of the mezzanine. The master suite comprises a huge area under the eaves with views of the starry night sky through the roof lights. A massive four poster double bed dominates the room however there is a double sofa bed and single fold away bed which makes this an ideal family room. There is an en suite shower room and separate toilet.

the barn, porcherie, plunge pool & gardens

The porcherie provides a kitchen and dining area under the oak beam roof with the flexibility to dine al fresco by rolling the long dining table outside. With the main doors folded back, inside, outside, or somewhere in-between is completely up to you

There is a large fridge freezer with ice making machine to chill your drinks, an oven and hob, and plenty of workspace to prep food for the barbeque.

Outside there are comfy chairs and a sofa for lounging around and a stone built pool for those requiring a dip to cool off. There is even a small opening in the wall, perfect for passing chilled drinks to those in the pool.

This pool has  a simple wooden cover which must be used when you have finished using the pool
