LA GRANGE AUX AVOINES

the restoration

The restoration of La Grange aux Avoines has been a long process not helped by the pandemic.  We are happy and proud to have used local trade and craft and are hugely thankful to all those who have been involved.

We hope you find this section interesting as we showcase some of the elements of our project

Here we can see the ground floor of the barn looking from the seating area to the side door.  It is hard to believe what this looked like when we purchased La Grange!

Not much very welcoming about the fireplace in the house until we worked our magic

Now it is a central feature of the room and whilst the house is centrally heated you cant beat the cracle of a real fire and the cosiness the wood burner creates an a chilly late autumn evening

Creation of the conservatory involved quite a major tree removal amongst much other hard toil.

On the upside we have a ready supply of logs for the wood burners!
